Allan is a senior Industrial Designer based in the San Francisco Bay Area with 18 years of experience in the product development industry. For the past few years, his focus has been management and design production, leading teams in product design and development from concept to delivery.

Allan is a holistic industrial designer and producer with a passion for challenges and creating innovative, functional products in the consumer product space that not only look great but are also engineered for ease of manufacture and assembly. With a strong focus on DFMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) and CMF (Color, Material, and Finish), he ensures that design engineering is efficient and seamless. His expertise spans the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to delivery, including product management, user experience, and cross-functional collaboration. Over the course of his career, He’s had the privilege of working on hundreds of products and successfully launching numerous successful ones.

Story:
Allan is the founder of Lunark, a product launcher startup, and he’s the former Head of Industrial Design Engineering at Gantri; responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of product development from concept through to launch and post-launch evaluation, strategic planning, product roadmap, cross-functional collaboration, market research, innovation, and, resources and risk management. During his time at Gantri, he built a stellar team of industrial designers and mechanical engineers, delivering several collections over the years and winning several awards from magazines such as Wired, Time, and others.

Before Gantri, Allan was the VP of Industrial Design at Iron Bridge Tools and reported directly to the CEO. In his role, he led a growing team of designers, oversaw the entire cycle from product creation to production, and worked with different departments in the overall process all the way to products on shelves. As VP of Industrial Design, he was responsible for the innovation of products, including their look and feel, user-friendliness, ergonomics, human factors, structural design, and mechanical design, as well as new ideas and future initiatives, and representing the office in executive reviews with clients.

Allan earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the Art Institutes. As an undergraduate, he was on the president's and dean's honor roll and was awarded the certificate of excellence for achieving Summa Cum Laude.
